The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and fostering a relationship with our suppliers and vendors. You will also oversee the implementation of the supply and production strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute purchasing strategies for wire harness materials including wires, cables, terminals, connectors, seals, sleeves, tapes, corrugated tubes, and packaging materials.
- Coordinate closely with production planning, engineering, quality, and logistics teams to ensure uninterrupted supply
- Monitor material availability and lead times to support JIT and lean manufacturing requirements
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, tooling costs, and long-term supply agreements
- Manage supplier performance related to quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness (QDCR)
- Handle cost-reduction initiatives including VA/VE activities, localization, and alternate sourcing
- Manage BOM cost control and support quotation activities for new projects and RFQs
- Track purchasing KPIs and prepare reports on cost savings, supplier performance, and risks
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001
, and customer-specific requirements - Address supplier quality or delivery issues and drive corrective actions
- Lead and develop the purchasing/procurement team, where applicable
- Execute Transaction MIRO to enter incoming vendor invoices, ensuring the "mirror" entry matches the physical document's header data (invoice date, reference number, tax amount, and gross total). Perform the standard SAP 3-way match by verifying that mirrored invoice details align with the Purchase Order (PO) and Goods Receipt (GR).
- 8+ years of purchasing experience in the wire harness or automotive components industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field
- Strong knowledge of wire harness materials, suppliers, and manufacturing processes
- Proven experience in supplier negotiation and cost management
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working with automotive OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers
- Knowledge of import/export regulations and customs procedures
- Professional certification (CPSM, CIPS, or equivalent)
- Experience in global sourcing and supplier development
