Lead Senior Project Manager
WSP is growing, and we have an exciting career opportunity for a Lead Senior Project Manager to support our Site Investigation & Remediation (SIR) Business Line in Houston, TX;
San Antonio, TX;
Dallas/Fort Worth, TX;
Austin, TX;
El Paso, TX;
New Orleans, LA;
Shreveport, LA or Baton Rouge, LA offices.
- Identify and develop new clients for WSP’s environmental business through internal and external networking.
- Manage environmental projects involving site characterization, remedial design, and environmental compliance, ensuring deliverables, schedules, and budgets are achieved.
- Perform field work for site characterization and remediation projects, including oversight of subcontractors and sampling of soil, soil vapor, sediment, surface water, and groundwater in accordance with state and federal regulations and accepted protocols.
- Conduct data analysis and reporting for environmental project tasks with minimal supervision; recommend remedial solutions using accepted scientific and engineering practices.
- Provide technical review to ensure compliance with environmental laws, company standards, contract requirements, and specifications.
- Travel to project sites primarily within Texas and occasionally across the mountain states of the West; minimal overnight travel required.
- Develop and maintain effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution and high‑quality service delivery.
- Mentor and train junior staff, supporting their professional development and preparing project teams for expanded responsibilities.
- Manage and coordinate project teams, ensuring the technical quality of deliverables.
- Collaborate and participate in technical discussions with internal teams.
- Support business development efforts in the public and private sectors.
- Manage proposal preparation, including innovative technical approaches, competitive pricing, and client presentations.
- Manage technical, budgetary, and schedule performance to achieve client satisfaction and repeat business.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making in accordance with WSP’s Code of Conduct and company policies.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field.
- PG or PE required (Texas registration preferred).
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience.
- Strong background providing environmental consulting services to industrial/commercial, mining, energy, and government clients.
- Proven experience growing existing client portfolios and developing new client opportunities.
- Demonstrated expertise with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including TRRP.
- Proven experience with environmental site investigations, remediation, field management, and sampling programs.
- Project management experience including oversight of deliverables, schedules, and budgets.
- Self‑starter with strong teamwork skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency with standard software tools including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel primarily within Texas with occasional travel to western mountain states; minimal overnight travel.
- Must pass a background check and maintain a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s MVR policy.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field.
