Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Custom Order Engineer (Electrical) in El Paso, TX.
Salary: $71,000 – $105,000 per year. The position is eligible for a variable incentive program. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, and market considerations.
Responsibilities- Interpret purchaser specifications and translate them into complex drawings and bills‑of‑material for Manufacturing and Purchasing.
- Self‑motivate, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Serve as the point of contact for engineering on all engineered orders for the El Paso facility with support from Asheville Design Engineering and coordination with Pune team members when applicable.
- Develop complex drawings and bills‑of‑material based on established product designs, providing sufficient detail to convey the purchaser’s equipment application.
- Consult with plant and field sales engineers to interpret and define new equipment applications.
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical interfaces with other products.
- Support COD, manufacturing, and purchasing activities in interpreting information for accurate equipment production.
- Consult with the Quality Department to resolve post‑shipment issues when required.
- Direct purchaser visits to approve or release equipment.
- Conduct special development/application projects of a complex nature.
- Report on cost and cycle‑time improvement activities.
- Plan travel as required to support the above.
- Conduct technical training seminars as required.
- Provide technical training and guidance to department personnel.
- Analyze needs and recommend revisions to department policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution OR an Associate’s Degree with 3 years of electrical distribution experience.
No relocation benefit is being offered. Only candidates within a 50‑mile radius of ElPaso, TX will be considered. Active‑Duty Military Service members are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electrical or electronics engineering technology, electrical and computer engineering, or mechatronics from an accredited institution.
- Previous COE experience in Low Voltage Assemblies.
- Previous electrical experience.
- Knowledge of PLCs.
- Knowledge of power distribution and control systems (LV and MV Switchgear, panel boards, switchboards, motor control centers).
