What You Will Do:
- The Calibration Technician shall schedule and perform calibration of Critical and Non-Critical Process Equipment and Laboratory Standards and complete all required documentation.
- The Calibration Technician shall coordinate repair and or calibration services with external vendors and assist with purchase order processing.
- The Calibration Technician shall implement new Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) related to internal calibrations and provide recommendations and revisions to SOP’s as required to advance laboratory capability from an on-site calibration service towards a Standards Calibration Laboratory (Type
1). - The Calibration Technician shall participate in calibration system audits.
- The Calibration Technician shall provide responsive customer service and be responsible for staff certification training.
- The Calibration Technician shall conduct all maintenance activities in support of the UAE in accordance with standard US Army maintenance concepts, practices, and procedures as stipulated within AR 750-1.
- The functional details and knowledge associated with each task performed by Calibration Technician shall be made available / transferred to UAE military Calibration Technicians via on-the-job-training principles and concepts.
- The Calibration Technicians shall facilitate UAE Calibration Technicians in becoming self-sufficient in PATRIOT Calibration support activities.
- This position is located in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This assignment is for short term only.
- Must have a strong background in digital electronics and RF / Microwave.
- Must have a minimum of 4 years experience in calibration of electronic equipment.
- Must have a deep understanding of the principles and concepts related to measurement, calibration, and instrumentation.
- Must be meticulous in their work, as minor discrepancies in measurements can have significant consequences, and carefully follow established procedures, document their work, and ensure that all measurements are accurate and reliable.
- Must be proficient in using computers and various software applications related to their work.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Familiar with various types of measuring equipment and understanding their operation, maintenance, and calibration requirements.
- A strong foundation in mathematics, as they must perform calculations and interpret numerical data to ensure the accuracy of measurements and calibrations.
- Previous experience in International Patriot FMS Programs.
- Experience living and working in an overseas location.
- Demonstrated experience with Contractor Logistics Support.
Education:
“Bachelor’s degree in engineering or 5 years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s degree in engineering or applied science or 6 years of relevant experience, or high school graduate with 8 years of relevant experience.”
