Senior VDC Specialist, Mission Critical

Overview

The Senior Virtual Design Construction Specialist will provide routine Building Information Modeling (BIM) administration and coordination to assigned projects. The position supports project teams by delivering models, documents, and technical BIM support, while maintaining an efficient VDC process.

• Provide models and documents necessary to complete scope as determined with VDC/BIM leadership and project teams.
• Assemble 3D content modeled by others and create any missing content.
• Learn and maintain a productive and efficient BIM process.
• Create and maintain clear and effective project documentation, such as meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and constraint logs.
• Support operations with the RFI process for BIM related items.
• Maintain working relationships with subcontractors and project teams.
• Assume responsibility for learning the VDC processes and standards; apply them to assigned projects.
• Read and comprehend construction documents and project BIM requirements and apply them to VDC processes.
• Incorporate design updates into project models.
• Analyze construction documents and models for errors and omissions, and make corrections as necessary.
• Support operations with self‑perform model management and layout (Self Perform VDC Focused).
• Provide BIM technical support to internal project teams.
• Independently conduct and maintain a productive and efficient VDC process.
• Communicate VDC related project constraints to supervisor and project teams in a timely manner to minimize project impacts.
• Provide training to project teams on utilization of BIM tools.
• Observe processes for aligning owner requirements, BIM execution plans, front end scopes of work, and ensuring minimum project requirements are met.
• Gain exposure to complex VDC delivery strategies, field layout processes, and self‑perform VDC processes (Self Perform VDC Focused).

• 2+ years BIM‑related experience (Required).
• Proficiency in MS Office and ability to conduct effective presentations.
• Knowledge of Lean process and philosophy.
• Knowledge of organizational structure and available resources.
• Ability to read and understand plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Knowledge of BIM technologies and ability to apply them to overall VDC processes and application in the AEC industry.
• Apply JE Dunn VDC/BIM processes and standards.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.
• Technical proficiency in:
  Autodesk BIM Glue (Intermediate), Autodesk Construction Cloud (Intermediate), Autodesk Design Collaboration (Intermediate), Autodesk Revit (Architecture, Structure, MEP) (Intermediate), Autodesk AutoCAD (Intermediate), Autodesk Navisworks Manage including JE Dunn clash workflow and program (Intermediate), Trimble’s Sketch‑Up (Intermediate), Bluebeam (Intermediate), JE Dunn Enterprise Mobile Solution (Intermediate), laser scanning process (Intermediate), Trimble Tekla Structures (Self Perform VDC Focused, Intermediate), Trimble Field Layout Solutions (Self Perform VDC Focused, Intermediate).
