Responsibilities
The Generator/Frequency Converter Technician will test, operate, and maintain power generation and frequency converter equipment in support of the PATRIOT MEIs.
Responsibilities include:
- Testing, proper operation, maintenance, and repair of power generation and frequency converter units.
- Providing support for all tactical site frequency converters.
- Transferring functional knowledge and training UAE military technicians on on-the-job training principles.
- Structuring support to enable UAE technicians to become self-sufficient in generator/frequency converter maintenance.
- Ensuring all activities comply with U.S. Army maintenance concepts, practices, and procedures (AR 750‑1).
- Coordinating with manufacturers of power equipment as required.
Location:
Abu Dhabi, UAE (short-term assignment)
- Graduate of the U.S. Army Power Generation Equipment Repairer (MOS 52D) course or a graduate of a technical school/manufacturer’s course on diesel power generation.
- Hands‑on experience in troubleshooting, fault isolation, disassembly, repair, assembly, and checkout of Lechmotoren power generation equipment.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience repairing and refurbishing generators, and working knowledge of 15 kW/400 Hz, 30 kW/400 Hz, and 150 kW/400 Hz diesel generators.
- Experience operating and maintaining 150 kW and 30 kW frequency converters, and implementing U.S. Army materiel maintenance management concepts.
- Experience applying Raytheon quality control procedures.
- Experience with Patriot refurbishment, modification, system integration, and checkout (SICO) processes.
- Strong planning, judgment, decision‑making, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Previous experience in international Patriot FMS programs.
- Experience living and working overseas.
Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years of related experience, or an Associate’s degree with eight (8) years, or a high‑school diploma/GED with twelve (12) years of related experience.
