Prince Manufacturing is seeking an accomplished Global Engineering Director to provide strategic leadership for engineering, maintenance, automation, capital projects, and New Business Introduction activities across its manufacturing operations in the United States and Mexico. As a member of the executive leadership team, this position is responsible for developing and executing the company's engineering strategy to support growth, operational excellence, product innovation, and manufacturing competitiveness.

The Global Engineering Director will lead multidisciplinary teams across multiple facilities, establish engineering standards and best practices, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure world‑class levels of safety, quality, reliability, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management
  • Direct and mentor a multidisciplinary team including engineers, maintenance personnel, and technicians.
  • Provide clear direction, performance expectations, and development plans for direct reports in both the maintenance and engineering departments, including New Business Introduction.
  • Foster a high‑performance culture rooted in accountability, safety, and continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Operations & Systems Knowledge
  • Maintain operational understanding of all core manufacturing competencies, including coating applications, metal forming, finishing, assembly, automation, and Shelter Operations.
  • Drive uptime and reliability by overseeing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure alignment between engineering projects and production needs to minimize downtime and maximize throughput.
Project Management & New Business Integration
  • Lead the quoting, launching and stabilization of new products and processes by coordinating NBI (New Business Integration) teams and cross‑functional departments.
  • Manage capital projects, including specification, selection, purchasing, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Ensure seamless integration of new systems into the existing manufacturing environment with a focus on productivity and scalability.
Technical & Process Expertise
  • Oversee and continuously improve the use of Bill of Materials (BOMs), process routings, and product lifecycle documentation in coordination with the Engineering, Supply Chain and ERP (IT) teams.
  • Lead automation and robotics implementation to enhance manufacturing precision, speed, and safety.
  • Apply lean and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize workflows and reduce waste.
  • Ensure all attained certifications such as ISO 14001 and ISO 9001:2015, and all TACOM certifications are maintained.
Strategic Contribution
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies that align with business goals and improve operational efficiency.
  • Partner with finance and operations on capital budgeting, ROI assessments, and long‑term investment and capacity planning.
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision‑making at the plant and corporate levels.
Education and Background
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Manufacturing (metal manufacturing, coatings desirable) or a closely related industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in capital equipment purchasing, system upgrades, and robotics integration.
  • Strong knowledge of BOM structures, maintenance systems, and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to lead cross‑functional teams in different regions, and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate a dynamic manufacturing environment and drive team performance.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (EPICOR, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Experience with robotic welding, painting, or material handling systems.
  • Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and maintenance reliability systems are preferred.
