Project Surveyor / Assistant Land Surveyor (PLS) – El Paso, Texas | Full‑time | Salaried
REC is seeking a licensed Project Surveyor / Assistant Land Surveyor (PLS) to lead surveying and geospatial operations in the El Paso area.
This leadership role combines field operations, office management, project coordination, and advanced surveying technology. The candidate will oversee field crews, manage survey deliverables, and support a variety of boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction, and platting projects.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and mentor survey field crews while promoting safety, quality, and professional development.
- Coordinate field and office survey operations to ensure project accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams on survey deliverables and project schedules.
- Oversee aerial mapping, drone operations, 3D scanning, robotic total station, and GPS survey workflows.
- Process and manage survey data using Trimble Business Center and Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Support drafting efforts for boundary, ALTA, topographic, construction, and platting projects.
- Coordinate data transfer between field and office personnel.
- Maintain survey equipment and instrumentation.
- Perform quality control reviews on survey data, plats, and deliverables.
- Ensure project accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Registered Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in the State of Texas.
- Minimum 5 years of surveying experience following licensure.
- Experience with boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction, and platting surveys.
- Proficiency with Trimble equipment, Trimble Business Center, and Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Associate's degree or higher in a related field preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work in both office and field environments.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain.
- Ability to hike uneven ground and access project sites.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of survey equipment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
