Senior Technical Advisor – Electrical Engineering/Public Works – El Paso, TX
A major municipal organization seeks an experienced leader to serve as Senior Technical Advisor overseeing electrical engineering for critical water, wastewater, and stormwater projects. This impactful role shapes the city's infrastructure, offers diverse project management responsibilities, and provides the opportunity to guide and mentor an extraordinarily passionate and talented engineering team.

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Six (6) years of professional engineering experience in industrial facility systems or municipal potable water and/or wastewater electrical systems
- Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Engineer
- Two (2) years of supervisory or managerial experience
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in Texas (or reciprocal license convertible within one year)
- Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent by the time of appointment
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly in writing and in presentations
- Some Spanish speaking ability is a plus!
- Expertise with power distribution, motor controls, SCADA, and renewables integration for utility environments
- Strong familiarity with electrical-specific CADD/design software
- Advanced knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations (Federal, State, local) relating to municipal utility projects
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with city officials, regulatory bodies, vendors, and contractors
- Manage and execute complex electrical engineering programs for municipal water infrastructure
- Lead teams in designing utility-related electrical facilities and preparing detailed plans and cost estimates
- Review and approve engineering plans and specifications for compliance, quality control, and constructability
- Coordinate cross-functional project teams, consultants, and contractors to drive projects from concept to completion
- Oversee quality control inspection, analyze energy consumption, and deliver recommendations for operational improvements
- Supervise and mentor staff, enforce regulations, and conduct employee training and development
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to leadership and public stakeholders
