JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects across the country, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.

Summary

The Sustainability Specialist will support the sustainability function, improving and communicating sustainability resources to project teams aligned with project and organizational strategy and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of client and program data. This role will also collaborate with sustainability leaders to review and align sustainability strategy with industry best practices. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

Autonomy & Decision-Making:
Makes decisions on assigned areas of responsibility, provides recommendations to supervisor and refers all exceptions to supervisor, as needed. Career Path:

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Participates in the creation and implementation of sustainability plans and strategies across the assigned scope of work
  • Ensures data is accurate, collaborates with project teams to investigate and validate various sustainability related data sources
  • Assists in the development of resources covering sustainability best practices for project teams
  • Leverages knowledge and experience with construction and sustainability practices to recommend improvements or identify emerging best practices for implementation
  • Researches latest trends in sustainability within the construction industry
  • Collaborates with project teams on smaller or less complex projects to introduce sustainability tools and methodology as needed
  • Tracks deliverables, KPIs and other metrics related to sustainability across work program
  • Prepares reports and presentations for sustainability leadership, project teams or clients
  • Maintains and updates documentation for sustainability building certifications such as LEED
  • Learns and understands business and project plans to effectively support integration of sustainability practices
  • Acts as a day-to-day contact for any miscellaneous 'green building' related items
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner Communication skills, verbal and written – Intermediate Ability to conduct effective presentations both internally and externally Proficiency in MS Office – Intermediate Working knowledge of green building frameworks (LEED, Green Globes), familiarity with WELL/Fitwel preferred Knowledge of LEAN construction principles Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Knowledge of project processes and how each supports the successful completion of a project Ability to build relationships with team members that transcend a project Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally

Education

Bachelors' degree in Sustainability, architecture, construction engineering or related field (Required) In lieu of the above requirements, relevant experience will be considered

Working Environment

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds May require periods of overnight travel Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet business needs May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold) Assignment location may include project sites and/or in the office Frequent activity:
