Job Description

Join a growing team as a CMT Technician supporting critical transportation infrastructure projects throughout Texas. This position plays a key role in ensuring quality and compliance on TxDOT projects through construction materials testing, inspection, and documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and committed to delivering accurate results that contribute to the success of major public works projects. Required

Certifications:

TxDOT Level 1A, TxDOT Level 1B, ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I.

Core Responsibilities

Perform field and laboratory testing on construction materials in line with TxDOT, ASTM, and AASHTO standards
Inspect roadway, bridge, and site development work to ensure compliance with project requirements
Document testing and inspection results using digital reporting systems
Review plans, specifications, and testing requirements to support accurate execution
Communicate results, observations, and issues clearly with project teams and clients
Maintain equipment, calibration records, and follow all safety practices on-site
Assist with project scheduling and coordination of field personnel

High school diploma or GED (technical or related degree is a plus)
Required

Certifications:

TxDOT Level 1A, TxDOT Level 1B, ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I
Minimum 2 years of experience in construction materials testing or inspection
Valid Texas driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites regularly
Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and perform physical field tasks
Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills
Knowledge of TxDOT specifications and testing procedures preferred
Preferred

Certifications:

SB-102, Nuclear Density Guage Safety certification
