Senior Engineer , Electrical Systems Design

We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer I to join our Central Engineering team. This role focuses on power systems engineering and supports the design and execution of customized low voltage equipment solutions. The successful candidate will contribute to engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, including design, documentation, customer requirements review, and manufacturing support.

The ideal candidate has experience with low voltage engineered-to-order (ETO) equipment and enjoys collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.

• Design electrical systems, protection schemes, and control solutions for low voltage ETO equipment.
• Develop engineering documentation, drawings, one-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and Bill of Materials
• Review customer specifications, one-line diagrams, and technical documents to develop compliant and cost-effective solutions.
• Conduct order reviews to verify project scope, technical requirements, and design compliance.
• Utilize Schneider Electric engineering tools to create and maintain project documentation.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical designs.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, plant engineering, and project teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Provide technical support during production and resolve engineering-related issues in a timely manner.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure project deliverables are completed on schedule and meet quality standards.
• Support customer approval drawing packages and engineering submittals.
• Assist in identifying opportunities for design standardization, cost reduction, and process improvement.

• Working knowledge of Schneider Electric ETO products and power distribution systems.
• Experience using engineering tools such as Order Editor, SEE Electrical, SEE XP, SEE PM, ACE, and ACE Test.
• Ability to interpret customer specifications and apply engineering standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Experience supporting cross-functional teams including manufacturing, procurement, and project management.
• Willingness to travel up to 15-20% domestically as required.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in power distribution, switch gear, switchboards, motor control centers, or related ETO equipment.
• Experience designing electrical control and protection schemes.
• Experience creating, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and schematics.
• Knowledge of power distribution equipment, metering systems, and protection devices.
• Familiarity with Modbus, TCP/IP, Ethernet, RS-485, and other industrial communication protocols.
• Working knowledge of NEC, UL, NEMA, and applicable industry standards.
• Proficiency with SEE Electrical/SEE XP, AutoCAD, and Schneider Electric engineering tools.
• Experience reviewing customer specifications and translating requirements into engineered solutions.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturing principles is preferred.

• Experience with Schneider Electric low voltage and medium voltage product portfolios.
