Loan Quality Assurance Specialist II
The Loan Quality Assurance Specialist II is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely reconciliation of all loan-related general ledger accounts. This role performs daily, weekly, and monthly reconcilements, processes loan payoffs, and maintains loan system updates to support accurate financial reporting and efficient loan servicing operations. The specialist serves as a key control point in the Loan Operations department to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, internal policies, and audit requirements.
EssentialFunctions
- Perform input of daily rates into PROFIT STARS-Financial Performance Suite (FPS) in an accurate and timely manner.
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of all loan-related GL accounts, verifying that transactions are complete, accurate, and properly supported. Research and resolve discrepancies between the loan system and financial accounting system utilizing loan reports and coordinating with lending staff to correct posting errors or balance issues.
- Responsible for the review of Synergy loan reports for legitimacy of items such as full and partial payments, payoffs, adjustments, due dates, etc. Document reconciliation findings and maintain audit-ready work papers.
- Responsible for uploading and indexing of daily reconciliations and daily work to Synergy.
- Responsible for timely reconciliation of the Reimbursable GL and completion of monthly reporting.
- Processes and uploads loan-related invoices to Accounts Payable in accordance with bank procedures.
- Process real estate releases of lien for loan payoffs with accuracy and within established turnaround times.
- Calculate loan payoff quotes, verify accrued interest, fees, and escrow balances, and ensure correct application of final payments.
- Maintain and update loan servicing system data, including rate changes, payment adjustments schedules, and loan-level research and corrections.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing reports, gathering documentation, and responding to inquiries.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and leverage technology to enhance workflows and operational efficiencies.
- Provide backup support to other loan operations functions as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 2 years of banking experience; prior experience in loan operations, or related banking roles preferred.
- Strong understanding of loan accounting, payment application, GL reconcilements, and loan servicing procedures preferred.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional departments.
- Experience with Microsoft programs, Bank core systems and loan servicing platforms preferred.
- Standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers.
