Job Overview This position reports to Mortgage Operations Manager. This position is responsible for assisting the mortgage operations department in various functions. Assist processor with ordering, reviewing, and clearing closing conditions in accordance to the credit union goals and objectives. Assist with gathering and uploading mortgage disclosures, related to audit requested from our third-party auditors, and or update, processes and procedures to comply with regulatory standards and procedures.

Assist the Mortgage Underwriter with pre-underwriting of initial loan files. You will be an empowering mentor that will be:

Position Details:

Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Hours:

Monday-Friday, occasional Saturdays Pay Range:$17.34-$26.01

Skills and Experience Education – College degree preferred. (Accounting, Finance, or related field)
Experience – Minimum 1 year of processing experience or certifications, and or technical skills in residential mortgage lending

Work experience should consist of loan processing, loan closing, loan funding, and loan underwriting, reading title work, loan estimates, closing disclosures and thorough review of appraisal reports

Previous credit union experience is a plus

Must have good communication and interpersonal skills

Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills

Detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based applications

Examine all loan applications and disclosures for discrepancies and ascertain all the information is true and consistent with credit union policies and guidelines

Knowledge in financial industry concepts, related laws, regulatory and compliance guidelines

Role Description and Essential Duties Requires a high level of organizational skills, excellent communication skills, a thorough understanding of Credit Union lending programs, policies, procedures, and professionalism.

Ability to assist the mortgage loan processor on the processing functions related to ordering third party items.

Conduct follow up with outside sources for outstanding documentation to ensure receipt within turn-around time standards.

Upload initial loan disclosures to the credit union core retention system.

Assist with collecting, gathering, and uploading loan documents for internal and external audits. Independently review loan documentation to ensure quality assurance guidelines have been met as well other regulatory laws.

Close outstanding internal and external audit items.

Assist in preparing reports on assessment findings.

Successful in completing courses and/or webinars related to mortgage processing, underwriting and mortgage related regulations.

Assist the Mortgage Underwriter with initial pre-underwrite of loan files.

Review credit, income, assets, purchase agreements, and any other related documents for completeness and effectively communicate loan eligibility decisions.

Assist with all other duties as assigned or identified

Compliance:
Complies with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) rules and regulations, in addition to Customer Identification Program (CIP). Attends required annual BSA training and required compliance training.

An understanding of real estate terminology, mortgage lending practices, and mortgage loan requirements (Conventional, ARM, FHA, VA, USDA, etc.)
