Serves as the secondary point of contact, and administrator for the mortgage loan software system. Seeks actionable improvements that impact the mortgage staff productivity and overall performance. Responsible for the development, testing, and rollout of enhancements and upgrades of various systems and technology platforms used in origination, processing, and closing of mortgage loans. Ensures mortgage programs and processes are in compliance with internal, external, local, state, and all other regulatory requirements.
TypicalDuties
Assists with managing vendor relationships that are critical to the overall function of the department. Minimizes system disruptions that could stop production and cause negative member impact. Evaluates all mortgage loan documentation and system functionality to identify investor and/or regulatory issues. Provides support to diverse areas of the organization such as;
Mortgage Operations, Collections, IT, Underwriting, Accounting, Compliance, and Document Management to ensure business and regulatory requirements are met. Assists in testing, coordinating, and managing the installation of new software releases and ongoing system upgrades through thorough and extensive test verification and issue resolution to maintain system integrity and promote increased functionality. Responsible for new product builds within the mortgage loan origination system, by performing extensive testing and ensuring all applicable required loan forms are compliant and ready for use.
Works collaboratively with the Mortgage Regulations and Servicing Coordinator to effectively coordinate changes and enhancements to procedures and guidelines. Maintains a proficient level of knowledge regarding compliance to ensure that work complies with GECU's established policies, procedures, programs, and applicable federal and state regulations. Attends various schools, seminars, and educational workshops to maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of changes in the mortgage industry and to keep abreast of federal and state regulatory changes that may impact operational procedures for the mortgage systems.
Maintain and understand compliance to ensure that work complies with GECU's established policies, procedures, and applicable regulations, to include Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering Act (AML) addressing Money Laundering and the Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), Member Identification Program (MIP), and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC). Other duties as may be assigned or required in connection with the general operation of the credit union.
Knowledge, Skill and Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with two years similar or related experience. Possess the capability to think logically and concentrate for long periods of time. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts. Understanding of Asset/Liability Management in relation to mortgage loans. Ability to function effectively under pressure.
Ability to manage time and prioritize work assignments. Extensive knowledge of Federal, State, and NCUA regulations governing real estate. Required to register with NMLS and must pass national criminal history background check. Comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of Secondary Market Underwriting Guidelines, Government Loan Guidelines, Mortgage Loan Policies, Mortgage Loan Documentation and Form Knowledge of PC and software with specialization in mortgage.
