Optometry Technician

Openings for Optometry Technicians to conduct vision screening and testing for military personnel. Support soldier readiness by ensuring proper vision assessment for deployment.

• Conduct initial patient interviews for visual history
• Administer various visual tests for preliminary data
• Set up diagnostic equipment properly
• Process 10-12 patients per hour
• Document all test results accurately
• Report unusual findings to optometrist or supervisor
• Maintain equipment and supplies
• Complete encounters in electronic health record

• Education: Certificate from optometry technician course OR military optometry technician training
• BLS: Current certification (in-person training)
• Experience: 1+ year as optometry technician within last 2 years
• Citizenship: U.S. Citizen

• Location: Fort Bliss SRPC
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• Patient Volume: High-volume screening
