Responsibilities
The Program Therapist is an active member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, providing direct patient care. Major job functions include individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, as well as psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and family sessions.
Qualifications- Education: Master’s Degree in Counseling or Social Work related field.
- Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in a mental health field with working with children ages 5‑11 preferred. Must have experience in providing direct care and/or family and group therapy, crisis intervention, clinical assessment skills and treatment planning.
- Licensure Requirements: Texas License in Social Work or clinical related mental health field. This is to include but not limited to LPC‑Intern, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, and LCDC.
- Additional Requirements: Handle with Care training must be completed within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting in any restraining procedures. Competencies will be administered within 90 days of hire and annually via test‑taking, return demonstration, or the use of simulation. Required to work flexible hours, overtime for hourly staff, some holidays, and weekends. TB Test and CPR certification must be completed prior to working with patients.
Must have knowledge of CMS, TJC, TAC, OSHA, state and federal regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.
