The Occupational Health Director oversees the Occupational Health staff and clinical direction of Associate care, treatment and follow-up as formulated. Coordinates Associate patient care, including on-the-job injury care, hospital-wide immunizations, and patient education, coordinates leave of absences. Provides nursing services to patients using components of the nursing process, which include assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. Utilizes knowledge of professional nursing practice in providing age-appropriate patient care based on scientific principles, nursing standards of practice, and standards of care for specific patient populations.
Other responsibilities include Joint Commission readiness; staff training; education and in-service offerings to departments as needed; development & maintenance of departmental policies and procedures; maintenance of departmental computer programs; maintenance/development of contracts; and evaluation and recommendation of programs or practices for improved operations or outcomes.
Five years' experience as a Registered Nurse in occupational health, medical/surgical, emergency, public health, or related area. Five years of management experience required.
License/Registration/CertificationCurrent TX RN license.
Current BLS
Education and TrainingBachelor’s degree in nursing required; master’s degree preferred.
