Responsible for conducting screenings, assessments, intakes, and orienting clients into program. Responsible for managing a caseload, including providing individual and group counseling sessions, documentation of client progress and participation, treatment plans and reviews and discharging planning. Manages crisis situations and is available for consultation with counselor interns.

• Conduct orientation to program and develops psychosocial history and treatment plans for clients within time specified in program level of service.
• Diagnose substance use disorders and determine level of care and eligibility.
• Maintains client files and documentation in accordance with organization, state, and federal rules.
• Facilitates psycho-educational and counseling individual, group, and family sessions to include substance use education, as assigned by supervisor.
• Participate in consultation with treatment team and other appropriate agency department to accomplish treatment goals. Contributes input, as well as receives feedback in staff meetings and supervision sessions.
• Provides required documentation to utilization reviewers for coordination of client care.
• Completes and submits all discharges, referrals, and follow ups within time limit established by state and/or federal guidelines.
• Manages client behavior, crisis situations and applies conflict resolution skills to situations.
• Attends and/or provides organizational training and continues to acquire Continuing Education (CE) hours as required for licensure renewal.
• Understands, accepts, implements, and promotes Aliviane Inc. Mission Statement, program/department goals, philosophy and objectives. Serves as a role model for employees, clients, and community partners.

• Must be designated as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
• One to two years' related experience and/or training required.
• Associate's or more advanced degree in Social Services, Human Relations, Social Science, Psychology, or related field from a regionally accredited university (preferred).
