Seeking a Medical Credentialing Specialist to manage the credentialing process for healthcare providers supporting military readiness operations. Critical role ensuring all providers meet military medical facility standards.
Key Responsibilities- Manage credentialing process for healthcare providers through pre/post-deployment
- Coordinate with WBAMC Credentialing Office
- Audit files for complete and accurate information
- Monitor expiring licenses and credentials proactively
- Verify accuracy of healthcare provider applications
- Perform primary and secondary source verifications
- Establish and update practitioner credential files (PCF) and provider activity files (PAF)
- Prepare files for Chief Medical Officer and Credentialing Committee review
- Maintain liaison with internal/external agencies
- Notify supervisors of documentation issues within 72 hours
- Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, information management, or related medical discipline
- BLS: Current certification
- Experience: 1+ year as medical credentialing specialist within last 3 years
- At least 50% of time focused on verifying credentials for licensed medical personnel (physicians, APRNs, PAs, therapists, etc.)
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizen
- Type: Non-Personal Services (work independently)
- Location: Fort Bliss WBAMC
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Environment: Office-based, computer-intensive
- Knowledge of credentialing standards and processes
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational abilities
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with credentialing databases
- Understanding of medical licensure requirements
