The Program Therapist performs social service functions to include assisting patients in meeting their biopsychosocial needs through enabling them to access therapeutic treatment skills and achieve their optimal level of emotional health and stability.

In addition, the program therapist will provide basic consultation, teaching, individual and group therapy, family sessions, and crisis intervention services.

They are an active participant in providing information and initiating referral services for the patients served.

• Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field. Must have a license in good standing or be within 90 days of obtaining the required license.
• Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a mental health field. Strong clinical assessment skills and direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment planning. Experience in properly documenting services rendered to patients. Preferred psychiatric facility experience.
• License: Must possess a state license at the time of employment. If not licensed, must obtain it within 90 days of employment. Proof of licensure required within 90 days. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Director of Clinical Services.
• Preferred Licensure: Texas license in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field (e.g., LPC-Intern, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LMFT).
• Additional Requirements: Handle with Care training within 30 days of employment, competencies administered within 30 days and annually. Work flexible hours, overtime for hourly staff, holidays, and weekends. TB Test and CPR certification prior to working with patients. Knowledge of CMS, TJC, TAC, OSHA, state and federal regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.
