Texas Oncology is looking for a Scheduling Supervisor to join our team at the Grandview, El Paso, TX location. Hours are 8:00 a‑5:00 p, Monday through Friday.

What does the Scheduling Supervisor do?

Responsible for coordination and operation of scheduling functions. Acts as a liaison with physicians, patients and office staff. Develops, administers and oversees scheduling procedures for each physician, lab and chemotherapy department. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises the daily activities of all scheduling duties and performs all aspects of scheduling staff as workload demands.
  • Obtains all information necessary to enter a new patient in the system, including demographics, complete insurance information and medical records needed for evaluation.
  • Maintains scheduling guidelines to coordinate physician, lab and chemotherapy schedules; reviews schedules daily for accuracy and corrects conflicts as needed.
  • Coordinates scheduling procedures with front office, medical staff, insurance and billing departments to ensure smooth transition and accurate information.
  • Trains new employees in the scheduling department and updates staff on new procedures.
  • Supervises daily charge ticket and chart preparation for each physician’s specifications and ensures end‑of‑day charge ticket collection with diagnosis and office level completion.
  • Assists in the supervision of schedulers and other non‑licensed patient care providers as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum seven years of office experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
Physical Demands

Work may require sitting for long periods, stooping, bending, stretching for files and supplies, and occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity for keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier, and other office equipment. Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing normal for telephone contacts. Must view and type on computer screens for prolonged periods.

Work Environment

Performed in an office environment; involves contact with patients and the public.
