Full Time. Job shift:
Day. Perform responsible professional work in the evaluation, planning and implementation of Therapeutic Recreation programs to increase, maintain or restore functions, maximize or prevent disability and assist patients in reaching their maximum performance levels in the areas of leisure education, adaptive recreation, and recreational activities.
Initiate assessment and develop goal‑oriented treatment plans based on each patient’s individual needs and abilities. Work within an interdisciplinary team to complete the recreational therapy plan of care, including evaluation of a patient’s pre‑morbidity leisure lifestyle, and provide goals and objectives directed at a therapeutically designed recreation/leisure‑oriented treatment which assists patients in attaining an optimum level of functioning. As needed, develop and implement diversionary activity programs and support efforts for patient social integration during rehabilitation stay.
QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Administration or an equivalent program.
Experience: Preferred: 1 year recreation therapist experience.
Certifications: Required:
Certification‑eligible by the Consortium for Therapeutic Recreation/Activity Certification (CTRS) or National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) or hold a Master’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Music Therapy, Art Therapy).
