Role DescriptionThis is a full‑time on‑site role for a Medical Assistant, based in El Paso, TX. The Medical Assistant will handle a variety of clinical and administrative tasks, including assisting healthcare providers with medical procedures, recording and maintaining accurate patient medical records, preparing examination rooms, and ensuring the comfort and care of patients. Additional responsibilities include managing medical office tasks and effectively communicating with patients and team members to support efficient practice operations.
Qualifications- Proficiency in Medical Assisting and Patient Care to provide hands‑on support during procedures and ensure patient comfort
- Understanding of Medical Terminology to effectively communicate with providers and document patient information
- Experience working in a Medical Office and handling Medical Records
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work well in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent training is preferred
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems is a plus
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are advantageous
- Assist with procedures under the supervision of providers.
- Assist providers in exam rooms.
- Draw blood.
- Administer vaccines/injections.
- Perform hearing and vision screens.
- Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, head circumference and document all information in the patient's chart.
- Give instructions to patients as instructed by providers in both English and Spanish.
- Ensure the provider has everything they need before entering the exam room, such as lab or imaging results, copies of consults, or proper equipment for a procedure.
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, and prepare sterilization as required.
- Process telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls.
- Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, sterilization, etc.).
- All other duties as assigned by management.
