El Paso Behavioral Health System is a private 167-bed psychiatric hospital located in El Paso, Texas, specializing in mental health and chemical dependency care. QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARY The Program Therapist performs social service functions to include assisting patients in meeting their biopsychosocial needs through enabling them to access therapeutic treatment skills and achieve their optimal level of emotional health and stability. In addition, the program therapist will provide basic consultation, teaching, individual and group therapy, family sessions, and crisis intervention services. Furthermore, they are an active participant in providing information and initiating referral services for the patients' served.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field. Must have a license in good standing or be within 90 days of obtaining required license.
Experience:
Program Therapist requires a minimum of one (1) year of experience in a mental health field. Must have strong clinical assessment skills and direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment planning. Must possess experience in properly documenting services rendered to our patients. Preferred psychiatric facility experience. License:
Program Therapist must possess a state license at the time of employment. In the event that candidate does not possess a state license, he/she must obtain it within 90 days of employment. Proof of licensure will be required within 90 days of employment. Exceptions will only be made on an individual basis and at the discretion of the Director of Clinical Services.
Preferred Licensure Requirements:
Texas License in Social Work or clinical related mental health field. This is to include but not limited to LPC-Intern, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LMFT.
Additional Requirements:
Handle with Care training must be completed within 30 days of employment and prior to assisting in any restraining procedures. Competencies will be administered within 30 days of hire and annually via test taking, return demonstration, or the use of simulation. Required to work flexible hours, overtime for hourly staff, holidays, and weekends. TB Test and CPR certification must be completed prior to working with patients.
Must have knowledge of CMS, TJC, TAC, OSHA, state and federal regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.
