Job Description
Under supervision/direction of a physician, performs specialized technical work involving orthopedic care of patients. Some supervisory and administrative duties.
QualificationsRequired:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
College graduate.
Experience
- Good oral and written communication skills in the English language.
- Ability to make safe decisions and work independently.
- Thorough knowledge of orthopedic traction, bracing and casting procedures along with orthotic and prosthetic devices.
- Ability to articulate descriptions of orthopedic conditions based on understanding of anatomical structures and their relationship with one another.
- Understanding of proper application of aseptic technique in dressing change and setting surgical fields.
- Preferred: 2 years as Orthopedic Technician
Certifications
Required:
Certified by National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technology. CPR certified.
