Overview
MDPerm is seeking a Clinical Psychologist with child and adolescent behavioral health experience to support the Department of Behavioral Health at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) in Fort Bliss, Texas
.

The psychologist will provide outpatient psychological services to children, adolescents, and families within a military healthcare environment. The position includes diagnostic evaluations, psychological testing, evidence-based psychotherapy, crisis support, treatment planning, and consultation with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Schedule & Work Hours
  • Full-Time, 40 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday; 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • No weekend shifts
  • No on-call coverage

Qualifications

Education/Internship
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
  • Graduate degree must be from an American Psychological Association (APA)-accredited psychology program
  • Completed an APA-accredited predoctoral psychology internship
Experience
  • Minimum of one year of relevant post-training clinical experience working with children and/or adolescents within the preceding two years
  • Experience evaluating and treating behavioral health conditions affecting pediatric and adolescent populations
Licensure
  • Current, active, and unrestricted license to practice psychology in a U.S. state, territory, or other qualifying U.S. jurisdiction
Additional Requirements
  • Must meet applicable eligibility requirements for employment
  • Must successfully complete required background/security screening and obtain access to government facilities and information systems
  • Must satisfy applicable occupational health requirements, including immunization documentation
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological and behavioral health evaluations of children and adolescents.
  • Assess emotional, developmental, behavioral, and psychological concerns and establish appropriate diagnoses using current diagnostic standards.
  • Perform biopsychosocial assessments and integrate clinical findings into individualized treatment recommendations.
  • Administer, score, and interpret psychological testing and other appropriate assessment instruments within granted clinical privileges.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, diagnosis, developmental needs, and presenting concerns.
  • Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy utilizing appropriate approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), brief therapeutic interventions, and client-centered techniques.
  • Provide individual, family, and group behavioral health services as clinically appropriate.
  • Evaluate and assist pediatric and adolescent patients experiencing acute psychological distress or behavioral health crises.
  • Provide clinical guidance to families regarding behavioral health concerns, child and adolescent development, trauma, coping strategies, and treatment recommendations.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment strategies when clinically indicated.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, primary care providers, behavioral health professionals, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Provide consultation regarding psychological and behavioral factors that may affect a patient's overall health and treatment.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation within the electronic health record.
  • Participate in case conferences, clinical reviews, quality improvement activities, and other departmental initiatives.
  • Practice within the clinical privileges granted by the Military Treatment Facility and comply with applicable DoD, facility, professional, and contractual standards.

  • Strong knowledge of child and adolescent development, behavioral health, and psychopathology
  • Experience with psychological assessment, diagnostic formulation, and treatment planning
