Field Based Medical Science Liaison (MSL)
Responsibilities:

  • Execute the external engagement strategy aligned to the therapeutic portfolio and implement the external engagement plan aligned to therapy area strategies.
  • Identify external experts, professional groups, decision makers, and key stakeholders in the assigned therapy area and/or geography.
  • Respond compliantly to unsolicited information requests from healthcare professionals/associated individuals about licensed or unlicensed medicines and indications; provide responses that are factual, fair and balanced, scientifically rigorous, and strictly compliant with standards, policies, and local codes/guidelines/laws.
  • Disseminate safety information; conduct scientific exchange for on-label/label-consistent GSK medicines; deliver scientific/pipeline presentations to formulary committees and HCPs per documented unsolicited requests.
  • Maintain expertise in evolving scientific/therapeutic areas and competitor medicines/vaccines.
  • Attend and contribute to medical portion of regional account planning/training sessions (if required) and national/regional scientific/medical meetings.
  • Support clinical development activities (GSK and investigator-sponsored studies) and collaborate with R&D to improve site performance; provide insight into GSK research interests and field inquiries.
  • Conduct individual discussions/meetings with steering committees, advisory boards, consultants, etc.
  • Provide scientific training for GSK sales reps using approved materials; train HCPs to speak on behalf of GSK and assist with speaker training events.
  • Partner with matrix colleagues to ensure strategies and business plans are patient- and business-focused.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Pharm. D, Ph. D, DNP, or MD (medical/clinical focus)
  • 2+ years’ experience in pharmacology/pharmacotherapy in humans with practical clinical application
  • Must live within the specified territory
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Post-doctoral residency in clinical/pharmaceutical practice
  • Pharmaceutical industry or medical liaison experience (therapeutic area experience a plus; may qualify for Sr. MSL)
  • Clinical experience demonstrating direct/indirect patient-care decision-making authority
  • Above average computer literacy (software applications)
