Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Home Health
Location: El Paso, Texas
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / PRN
Reports To: Physical Therapist / Clinical Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our home health team. The PTA will provide therapy services to patients in their homes under the supervision and direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, clinical competency, and a commitment to helping patients regain their mobility and independence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver physical therapy treatments to patients in their homes according to the care plan established by the supervising Physical Therapist.

  • Assist in implementing therapeutic programs including exercises, functional training, gait training, balance work, and pain management.

  • Observe and report patient progress, response to treatment, and any changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist.

  • Educate patients and caregivers on safe techniques and exercises to continue therapy at home.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation of all care provided.

  • Follow the Physical Therapist’s plan of care while adhering to agency, state, and federal regulations.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

  • Ensure a safe home environment for therapy activities.

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

  • Current PTA license in the state of Texas.

  • CPR certification.

  • Previous experience in home health or similar clinical setting preferred.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent communication, time management, and documentation skills.

Working Conditions:
  • Frequent travel between patient homes within a defined service area.

  • Physically demanding work that may require lifting, transferring, or positioning patients.

  • Must be comfortable working in a variety of home settings.
