Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Home Health
Location: El Paso, Texas
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / PRN
Reports To: Physical Therapist / Clinical Supervisor
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our home health team. The PTA will provide therapy services to patients in their homes under the supervision and direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, clinical competency, and a commitment to helping patients regain their mobility and independence.
Key Responsibilities:Deliver physical therapy treatments to patients in their homes according to the care plan established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
Assist in implementing therapeutic programs including exercises, functional training, gait training, balance work, and pain management.
Observe and report patient progress, response to treatment, and any changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist.
Educate patients and caregivers on safe techniques and exercises to continue therapy at home.
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation of all care provided.
Follow the Physical Therapist’s plan of care while adhering to agency, state, and federal regulations.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Ensure a safe home environment for therapy activities.
Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Current PTA license in the state of Texas.
CPR certification.
Previous experience in home health or similar clinical setting preferred.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication, time management, and documentation skills.
Frequent travel between patient homes within a defined service area.
Physically demanding work that may require lifting, transferring, or positioning patients.
Must be comfortable working in a variety of home settings.
