Registered Nurse Operating Room, PRN

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Supports the organization’s vision and mission.

Utilizes knowledge of patient’s developmental age and cultural diversity in the provision of patient and family-centered care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.

• At least one year experience within the patient care area that candidate is applying to is required.
• License/Registration/Certification: RN PRN candidates, whether internal or external, must have certifications noted in the table below by department at the start of assignment/employment. For Emergency Department, NRP and STABLE are required within 12 months from date of hire.
• Certifications required by unit:
  • PICU – BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, APHON, TNCC, ENPC
  • Pediatrics – BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, APHON, TNCC, ENPC
  • IMCU – BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, APHON, TNCC, ENPC
  • Hematology/Oncology – BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, APHON, TNCC, ENPC
  • NICU – BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, APHON, TNCC, ENPC
  • Perioperative Services – BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, APHON, TNCC, ENPC
  • Emergency Dept – BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, APHON, TNCC, ENPC
  • Float Pool – BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, APHON, TNCC, ENPC
  • Transport – BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, APHON, TNCC, ENPC
  • Nurse Imaging – BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, APHON, TNCC, ENPC
  • Multispecialty Center – BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, APHON, TNCC, ENPC
• Associate degree in Nursing required.

• Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.
• Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
