Child Nutrition Services Department Manager
Implement the district nutrition plan to include the development and analysis of menus, recipes, and food specifications through the integrated systems in the Child Nutrition Services Department. Oversee the promotion, social media, and education initiatives for the Child Nutrition Services Department. Adhere to federal and state laws, as well as district policies, procedures, and regulations. Essential Functions Coordinate, analyze, and implement the nutritional content in menu and recipe preparing functions, assuring nutritional content complies with applicable federal regulations and nutrition standards.
Develop cycle menus per nutritional requirements and federal government budget requirements. Develop specialty dietary menus for students who have food allergies. Facilitate and organize informational meetings and training sessions on the subject of nutrition education, safety, and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HAACP). Upload district menus for internal district use and external parent view. Coordinate, analyze, and introduce new products.
Develop and implement marketing and merchandising of nutritious foods. Coordinate school and community relations concerning nutritional programs, policies, and procedures. Develop and implement all training for staff opportunities offered through the department. Coordinate the supper and summer school meal service programs. Provide guidance and instruction to managers on menu planning and completion of production records. Attendance at the work site is required to meet essential functions of the job.
Other Responsibilities Participate in professional development activities as required by the district. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties; support district/department goals. Maintain a professional code of ethics and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, business administration, or related field; valid registered dietician by the Commission of Dietetic Registration; valid licensed dietician by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation by the first day of work;
three (3) years of institutional food service experience to include menu planning/analysis experience. Valid Texas/New Mexico driver's license/; subject to the district's drug and alcohol screening policy and regulation; must be insurable by the district's auto liability insurance carrier. Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors Maintain emotional control under stress; ability to work with frequent interruptions; prolonged use of computers and occasional prolonged and irregular hours;
