Kress Plaza seeks an Assistant General Manager to support the overall leadership and daily operations of its multi‑vendor food hall. This role works closely with the General Manager to ensure exceptional guest experiences, strong vendor relationships, and consistent operational performance. The position serves the food hall and its vendors, with a strong emphasis on front‑of‑house management, vendor coordination, and operational support.
Key Responsibilities- Support the General Manager in overseeing all daily operations of the food hall, ensuring a seamless, high‑quality guest experience across multiple vendor concepts.
- Lead front‑of‑house teams with a focus on service excellence, guest flow management, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere.
- Serve as a primary liaison for vendor partners, addressing operational needs, resolving issues, and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships.
- Ensure all vendors adhere to food hall policies, service standards, safety protocols, and compliance requirements.
- Conduct regular walkthroughs to monitor facility conditions, guest areas, vendor stations, and shared spaces, addressing issues proactively.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and development of front‑of‑house staff, reinforcing service standards and operational expectations.
- Support scheduling, labor oversight, and staffing adjustments to meet business demands.
- Help track vendor sales turnovers, operational KPIs, and daily financial reporting.
- Assist with inventory oversight, supply ordering, and cost‑control initiatives for shared front‑of‑house needs.
- Respond to guest concerns with professionalism, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining a positive brand image.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business management, or a related field preferred.
- Five (5) years of hospitality or food service experience, with three (3) years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong working knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and health department compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage staffing, scheduling, training, and performance support.
- Solid administrative skills, including comfort with POS systems, reporting, and basic financial tracking.
- Valid Food Handler’s Card and TABC certification required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Leadership, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Guest‑focused mindset with attention to detail and operational awareness.
- Frequent walking, standing, and movement throughout the food hall.
- Occasional lifting of supplies or equipment up to 25 pounds.
- May require climbing stairs or accessing elevated areas.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and scheduled company holidays.
