The Human Resources Generalist provides administrative support to the daily functions of the human resources department processes and provides support in consultation with management. This role processes recruitment and benefit plans, enforces company policies and regulations, and acts as a liaison between employees and insurance providers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct recruitment and onboarding process by coordinating requisition, job posting, and new hire orientation etc.
- Process Personnel Action Forms (PAF) for employee status change (hiring, promotion, termination) in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ensuring approvals.
- Complete Forms I-9, verify I-9 documentation, maintain I-9 files, and report new hires and terminations to agencies like OAG.
- Assist with new hires and annual pre-screening processes such as drug and background checks.
- Assist with recordkeeping and maintain and update physical and digital files of employees' documents.
- Process benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations. Process requires documents through HRIS and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
- Respond to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes, and other general inquiries.
- Assist with the open enrollment process with HRIS and benefits databases, and coordinate COBRA.
- Review monthly billing to be ready for approval and correct discrepancies to be ready for payment processing.
- Perform routine tasks assisting with leaves, FMLA administration, and other benefits.
- Process unemployment cases and workers' compensation claims.
- Coordinate and manage the training on the Learning Management System (Relias LMS).
- Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations and maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
