Human Resources Coordinator
The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for providing day-to-day administrative and operational support for the Human Resources function at the Agency main office and property locations. The position supports payroll and timekeeping activities, benefits administration, employee onboarding and offboarding, recruitment coordination, employee records, performance management administration, employee communications, and general HR and office support. The Human Resources Coordinator serves as a resource to employees and supervisors, maintains accurate and confidential HR records, and coordinates HR processes to ensure timely and effective service to employees and management.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Accountable for supporting compliance with Company policies and procedures and maintaining accurate HR documentation.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality concerning all company matters, including personnel actions, payroll, benefits, compensation, terminations, employee records, and organizational plans.
- Provides payroll processing support for new hires, compensation changes, vacation, sick leave, and other payroll-related transactions.
- Reviews employee timecards for accuracy and coordinates corrections for missed punches, incorrect entries, time-off requests, and other discrepancies.
- Supports administration of payroll deductions and records.
- Administration of company benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, HSA, and FSA programs.
- Processes employee benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations and ensures information is accurately maintained in the HRIS.
- Administers all FMLA and medical/personal leave related documentation for review and approval by HR Manager and CEO.
- Assists with benefits-related records, billing, documentation, and employee inquiries.
- Coordinates the new employee's onboarding process and ensures required onboarding activities are completed accurately and on time.
- Coordinates first-day-of-employment requirements, supports onboarding presentations, including building tours, dress code requirements, employee handbook overview, and general workplace information.
- Setting up new hires in the HRIS and other required systems.
- Coordinates the employee offboarding process and communicates with employees regarding termination procedures and required next steps.
- Ensuring HRIS records and termination information are updated accurately and timely.
- Serves as a point of contact for routine employee questions and provides general HR and administrative assistance.
- Provides office materials and supplies and coordinates replenishment as needed.
- Supports internal employee events, including birthdays, retirements, and other activities.
- Coordinates with recruitment agencies regarding candidate submissions, interviews, status updates, and other recruiting activities.
- Supports job postings, applicant tracking, resume/application screening, interview coordination, and related recruitment administration.
- Maintains accurate HRIS records for employee information, personnel actions, compensation, benefits, attendance, performance reviews, and termination information.
- Maintains and reviews employee performance program records, including 90-day, 6-month, and annual performance evaluations.
- Assists with HR reporting, metrics, and weekly HR activity reports as requested by the HR Manager.
- Assists with required employee reporting and HR compliance documentation, including applicable new-hire reporting.
- Perform other duties and special projects assigned.
Requirements
Job qualifications and knowledge requirements
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum one to three years of Human Resources, payroll, benefits, or administrative experience.
Previous experience supporting payroll processing, timekeeping, benefits administration, onboarding, or employee records preferred.
Previous applicant tracking, recruiting coordination, and candidate screening experience preferred.
Working knowledge of major HR functional areas, including payroll and timekeeping, benefits administration, employee records, recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, performance management, and policy administration.
Working knowledge of applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations.
Working knowledge of payroll, benefits, and HRIS systems;
Paylocity experience highly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Ability to handle confidential employees, payroll, benefits, compensation, and employment information with discretion.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills highly desired.
Salary Description $24 per hour
