The Database Administrator II is responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing enterprise databases supporting inhouse and third party applications. This role partners with IT teams to ensure high performance, reliability, and data integrity across critical systems.
The ideal candidate has hands-on database administration experience, can work independently on moderately complex environments, and contributes to automation, reporting, and performance optimization.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain, monitor, and secure production databases
- Optimize database performance, capacity, and availability
- Perform backups, recovery, patching, and upgrades
- Develop reports and support business data needs
- Implement automation using scripting tools (e.g., Power Shell)
- Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to resolve issues
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or four (4) years of experience in Database Administration in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
MSDBA, MCSA or related SQL Database Certification acquired within one (1) year of assignment.
Experience
Required:
Three (3) years of database administration experience
Strong SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS experience
Scripting and automation experience preferred
