• Assist with the development, documentation, and maintenance of information security policies, procedures, and standards aligned with city business goals.
• Analyze information security processes and coordinate solutions with the Department of Information Technology Services and city departments.
• Identify unique system configurations, interview key personnel, and develop standard security documentation (security categorizations, risk assessments, contingency plans, security test & evaluation reports, vulnerability assessment reports, etc.).
• Develop, document, and enforce security policies, standards, guidelines, processes, and procedures to support the enterprise security posture, including updating controls, hardening operating systems, devices, and access systems.
• Assist in developing data systems, network security architecture, security risk analysis scenarios, and response procedures.
• Administer security tools, monitor security events, alert and report findings.
• Implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
• Evaluate, design, monitor, implement, and administer information security systems; process and modify security access requests; troubleshoot and support a variety of security systems software.
• Prepare status reports, review security violation reports, investigate exceptions, and represent the organization’s security needs.

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in information technology, management information systems, computer science, accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
• Experience: At least four (4) years of information technology and/or physical security experience, with a minimum of two (2) years in network/server management or physical access systems.
• Licenses: Valid Texas Class “C” driver’s license (or equivalent issued by another state).
• Certifications: One of the following certifications within twelve (12) months of appointment: GSEC, GCIH, or GCIA.
• Background: Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility; disqualified for felony convictions, certain misdemeanors, open arrests, or family violence convictions.
• Military MOS Codes: 0681 (Marine Corps), 1D731D (Air Force), 022779 (Navy), 25B (Army).
