Job Summary
The Database Administrator will manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of databases with the goal of optimizing performance to achieve business objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server databases, in the cloud and on premises, to ensure high availability and performance.
- Lead efforts to optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing strategies.
- Implement and maintain advanced security measures to protect sensitive data.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and perform regular testing to ensure data integrity.
- Mentor Level I administrators, providing guidance on best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
- Collaborate with application and data teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of database systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, providing expertise in database technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Two to seven (2
- 7) years of experience in database administration, with a focus on SQL Server. - Proficiency in database performance tuning, security, and disaster recovery in on-premises and cloud environments.
- Experience with SQL Server replication, clustering, and other high-availability technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on database optimization.
- Experience in mentoring junior administrators and leading database projects.
