General Manager - Customs & Cross-Border Logistics Operations

We're searching for a strategic and operational leader to oversee Customs, Foreign Trade, and Cross-Border Logistics operations supporting our Juárez, Mexico and El Paso, Texas facilities. This is an opportunity to lead a critical function at the center of Technimark's North American supply chain while helping shape the future of our logistics network.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct all import/export activities supporting multiple manufacturing and logistics locations.
• Ensure efficient and compliant movement of materials, equipment, customer products, and returns across international borders.
• Oversee transportation, customs brokerage, trade compliance, and customs reporting activities.
• Serve as the primary authority for customs compliance across U.S. and Mexico operations.
• Manage:
• HTS/Tariff classifications
• Import and export documentation
• Duty payments
• Customs permits and licenses
• Regulatory filings and audits
• Customs reporting requirements
• Monitor changes in U.S. and Mexican customs regulations and advise leadership on business impacts.
• Act as primary point of contact for FDA-related import clearances and issue resolution.
• Identify opportunities to reduce transportation costs, improve efficiency, and enhance border-crossing performance.
• Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean and Process Excellence methodologies.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and Commercial teams to optimize logistics performance.
• Own departmental budgets and cost control initiatives.
• Manage logistics and customs-related P&L performance.
• Monitor and improve key logistics performance metrics.
• Negotiate contracts and service agreements with:
  Warehousing providers, Transportation carriers, Logistics providers & Customs brokers.
• Support commercial discussions with customers regarding logistics and trade-related requirements.
• Lead, coach, and develop customs and logistics professionals.
• Establish performance expectations and development plans.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.

Required Experience

• 8-10+ years of progressive leadership experience in:
  Customs & Trade Compliance, International Logistics, Materials Management and Transportation & Traffic Management.
• Strong experience with U.S. and Mexican Customs regulations
• Fluent English and Spanish (written and verbal)
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations in a highly regulated environment.
• Experience managing cross-border operations between Mexico and the United States.
• Import/Export compliance
• Customs reporting and internal controls
• FDA import regulations
• Extensive knowledge with Customs management software, ERPs and Data Analysis and reporting tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience (MBA preferred)
• Licensed Customs Broker strongly preferred
• Lean, Six Sigma, or Green Belt certification preferred
