Position Summary

Marathon Petroleum Company LP has an opportunity for a Warehouse Manager position at its refinery in El Paso, TX. The Warehouse Manager reports to the Refinery Supply Chain Director and is responsible for developing warehousing strategies and coordinating warehouse activities in support of Marathon’s El Paso refinery. This position will supervise up to 3 direct reports.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises Warehouse Supervisors and/or Warehouse Technicians in performance of their duties ensuring the expected standards of job performance, discipline and safety are met.
  • Provides coaching to employees; participates in performance management discussions and in the selection process for staffing of future open positions.
  • Provides oversight in the execution of daily warehouse operations, including the handling of goods receipts, goods issues, picklists, cycle counting, stock put away, logistics and quality control/assurance, utilizing the most appropriate materials handling and storage methods and equipment.
  • Establishes warehouse strategies and organizational goals, develops and tracks key performance indicators (KPI), uses root cause analysis to improve performance.
  • Develops short- and long-term plans to increase the efficiency and optimization of warehousing functions and inventory, engaging workforce in continuous improvement efforts to achieve best-in-class status.
  • Supports warehouse staff in delivering the ongoing short-term (daily, weekly) requirements to support the business and plans for longer-term requirements.
  • Collaborates with the Supply Chain Operations Materials Management group for material master creations, updates, deletions, daily Materials Requirement Planning (MRP), cycle counting, obsolete/surplus material management, repairs, refurbishments and running reports.
  • Establishes and maintains effective methods of communication with all parties and creates robust, sustainable relationships with internal clients and suppliers.
  • Proactively understands organizational needs and plans/aligns material management strategies to business partner goals.
  • Establishes processes to ensure adequate control of material transportation and other activities, including manual and computerized systems.
  • Maintains high HES standards, leads and participates in activities supporting HES performance commitments.
  • Ensures compliance with all required Marathon policy, procedures and guidance and all industry and legislative requirements regarding logistics activities, including compliance by company personnel and contractors.
  • Provides guidance, support, training and development to warehouse staff.
  • Coordinates with the department manager in developing the warehouse budget; maintains financial discipline to meet the budget.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five (5) or more years of warehousing or business relevant experience.
