Position: Team Captain On Field Operations

As a Team Captain of On Field Operations, you will coach teammates, manage priorities, and deliver a consistent, athlete‑first shopping experience.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver outstanding athlete experiences by anticipating athlete needs and providing clear, accurate, and knowledgeable information about products and assortment.
  • Uphold company merchandising and presentation standards, following floor sets, signage, price changes, inventory presentation, replenishment standards, etc.
  • Promote and lead company programs (e.g., customer loyalty, warranty sales, private label credit card enrollment).
  • Collaborate with the SM and ASM to develop 30‑60‑90 day plans to support business priorities for assigned department(s).
  • Help establish working plans related to operational initiatives, staffing, hiring needs, budgeting, and financial goals.
  • Execute plans, adjust as needed, and use independent judgement to analyze plan effectiveness.
  • When sole leader, act as Head Coach and oversee general store operations: opening/closing procedures, front‑end and cash office functions, teammate supervision.
  • Communicate departmental goals and plans to direct reports, assign workloads, and support operational and merchandising initiatives.
  • Develop effective schedules for direct reports, adjusting to athlete traffic and operational demands.
  • Build and lead a strong, effective team, sourcing, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retaining direct reports.
  • Ensure teammates are trained, coached, and provided feedback, recognition, and development.
  • Handle performance management, including annual reviews, promotional recommendations, and accountability for policies and procedures.
  • Create a store environment where teammates and athletes are welcome and treated with respect.
  • Enforce safety, loss prevention, standard operating procedures, and external regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of experience.
  • Previous retail or customer‑facing experience required.
  • Previous people‑leadership experience preferred.
