Job Summary
The Project Manager will act as a tactical leadership and support function for Operations, monitoring, supporting, and performing work for the largest contract value projects, including those deemed high risk. The role also serves as a senior escalation point for the PM community and mentors/ coaches project managers throughout engagements. Overall responsibilities include ensuring all contracted work is developed, implemented, installed, and managed in accordance with the Company's safety, quality, management, and financial performance requirements, while achieving staffing, material, financial, customer care, and delivery goals.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Monitor, support, and report on high‑risk and large‑profile projects, focusing on risk management, profit margin protection, and efficient implementation practices.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and engage in significant project escalations across operations branches, staying involved until resolution.
- Track project financials, key performance indicators, and forecasting to monitor performance and maintain profitability.
- Mentor and coach partnering Project Managers to enhance their development and skill sets.
- Represent the PMO in “Pre‑Con/Ops Handoff” and “Ops Implementation” meetings for Tier 5 levels.
- Manage workload distribution, monitor customer delivery and job installation progress, and review job cost postings for accuracy, including invoicing and financial reporting.
- Manage all related quality and safety issues on customer work.
- Participate in and/or facilitate the bid process and act as the Company liaison for customer representatives.
- Create, develop, and implement account process improvements, and perform any other responsibilities as assigned.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of supervisory or managerial experience and five (5) years in telecommunications or a related technical/construction field.
- Experience project‑managing large and complex projects (>$1 M) with a strong focus on scope, schedule, and budget.
- Proficiency with formal scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, Wrike, Smartsheet, Excel) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Teams.
- Strong problem‑solving, critical thinking, and communication skills; ability to interpret blueprints and project documents.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- License required (minimum driving standards met); ability to travel to job sites as needed.
Must be self‑motivated, positive, and professional, with the ability to lead others, promote company culture, and effectively read, write, and present. Must have the capacity to travel to job sites and to use company and customer project management systems.
