Position Summary

Dal‑Tile is currently seeking an eager and motivated entry‑level material handler. The role requires experience with basic day‑to‑day warehouse functions and the capability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Primary Objective

Operates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and conveys orders to packing station or shipping area.

Major Functions and Scope
  • Pull/assemble customer orders, check outbound orders for accuracy/completeness, inventory stock checks, restock and label vendor product, maintain displays (tools, caulk, etc.)
  • Move, store, and replenish material, conduct daily cycle counts
  • Receiving duties: receive and unload inbound material, process inbound shipments, stock material, process customer returns, and notify management of damaged shipments for freight claims
  • Perform activities such as cutting lumber, building A‑frames, building I‑beams
  • Operate forklift equipment and overhead cranes
  • Maintain a clean and organized facility by sweeping, trash removal, restroom, and general office maintenance
  • Maintain a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlined in the Safety Program and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to management
  • Perform other related duties as required
Experience and Knowledge Required

High School diploma or equivalent experience;
Certified Sit‑Down Forklift Operator. 1‑year previous warehouse experience preferred.

Other Pertinent Job Information

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb, or balance. The associate may lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Average picks per hour are 25, with the average weight between 40–70 lbs;

heavier picks (50–70 lbs) represent 65 % of the shift and lighter items (20–40 lbs) represent 35 %. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. The associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, occasionally to fumes or airborne particles, various temperatures, and loud noise. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
