Responsibilities
- Monitor movement of tile through the kiln firing process.
- Ensure tiles enter and exit the kiln efficiently.
- Inspect tiles for defects.
- Record temperature of the kiln every hour during shift.
- Collect tile samples for laboratory analysis.
- Monitor equipment or processes and report problems to the supervisor.
- Follow ISO operating procedures and control plan.
- Support a team environment by cooperating and communicating with colleagues.
- Maintain a clean work station and comply with all safety and health requirements, including being present at the station during shift changes.
- Keep the area safe, clean, and organized.
- Complete all required training, including ergonomic, safety, health, and environmental training.
- Identify and adjust workstation arrangement, work practices, and workflow to reduce risk factors.
- Report issues to the supervisor/manager when unable to control risk factors.
- Report symptoms of injury/illness and concerns when first noted.
- Participate in incident investigations.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good record‑keeping skills.
- Good listening skills.
- Accurate measurement capability.
- Ability to understand and speak basic English.
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms; walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and may sometimes sit, climb, or balance. The associate may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, a wide range of temperatures, and a relatively loud noise level.
