The Mold Setup Technician is responsible for installing, removing, troubleshooting, and maintaining molds and related equipment used in manufacturing and injection molding operations. This role ensures molds are properly set up, production equipment is operating efficiently, and production schedules are met while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstall and remove molds from molding machines according to production schedules.
Perform mold changes, setups, and startups efficiently to minimize downtime.
Connect water lines, hydraulic lines, electrical connections, and auxiliary equipment.
Verify molds are aligned and secured properly before production startup.
Troubleshoot setup and process issues related to molds and machines.
Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on molds and equipment.
Inspect molds for wear, damage, or defects and report issues to maintenance or engineering teams.
Adjust machine settings and assist with process optimization to ensure product quality.
Ensure all setups meet quality specifications and production requirements.
Follow safety procedures, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.
Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and equipment.
Complete setup documentation, production logs, and maintenance records accurately.
Assist operators and production staff with technical support during production runs.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in mold setup, injection molding, manufacturing, or machine operation preferred.
- Knowledge of molding machines, tooling, and manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints, setup sheets, and work instructions.
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems is a plus.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to safely operate cranes, forklifts, and hand tools if required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Pay Details: $19.50 per hour
