What You Will Do
- Assemble and repair a variety of electronic units using prescribed repair techniques.
- Solder electronic components using industry-standard techniques and tools.
- Remove and replace components with accuracy.
- Read and interpret assembly drawings, part lists, and/or work instructions.
- Support production/rework/repair of various product lines including (but not limited to) electronics box assemblies, RF electronics, high-power distribution assemblies, electromechanical assemblies, cable/harness assemblies, electronics rack-mount systems/chassis, circuit card assemblies, test sets, and other similar-complexity assemblies.
- Measure, mix, and apply chemicals according to safety and operational guidelines.
- Communicate work status to team members and support staff, ensuring seamless workflow.
- Document clear and concisely and maintain accurate records.
- Utilize computer skills and office software applications.
- Work closely with Engineering, Test Technicians, and Quality Assurance Inspection personnel on unit repairs and production.
- While working on product, maintain control of all Electro-static Sensitive (ESD) precautions and processes.
- May occasionally need to work extended hours (during the week, weekends, and holidays) to support and meet customer goals.
- Will work on product of various weights and sizes.
- Will need to wear ESD static-control devices and personal protective equipment, to minimize safety risk to candidate and product.
- Due to the nature of the work, will need to be able to perform the following functions, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Using hands for extended periods of time to perform soldering, dis-assembly, assembly, working with tools, etc... (e.g. grasping, holding, picking, placing, twisting, fine manipulation)
- Must be able to stand for 1 hour increments without an opportunity to sit
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
- Transport product with or without product carts
- Enhance your skills in assembly and soldering techniques.
- Gain insights into reading and interpreting complex technical data and engineering prints.
- Learn best practices in chemical handling and workplace safety.
- Develop effective communication and teamwork skills within a collaborative environment.
- Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- Experience with electronic assembly (soldering/rework and cable assemble/rework)
- Current (or previously held) certification for IPC-JSTD 001 (solder) and/or IPC WHMA-A-620 (cable harness).
- Experience in the aerospace industry
