Material Handler, Forklift Operator
Job Responsibilities
- Unload incoming shipments, verify quantities and inspect for damage
- Accurate document receipts in inventory systems
- Pick, pack and stage customer orders according to shipment schedules
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated warehouse locations
- Conduct cycle counts or physical inventory as required
- Assist with loading outbound trucks
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks or other material‑handling equipment safely
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment
- Follow all warehouse work instructions and safety regulations
- Confirm material are the same part number and lot number as applicable (Refer to the on‑the‑job training)
- Open boxes to get the material to be kitting
- Put materials from the boxes in the carts
- Allocate carts in designated area once all process is finished
- Occasionally use forklift as needed (Refer to the on‑the‑job training)
- Pull raw material from the warehouse to manufacturing
- Provide packaging materials to the production lines (Refer to the on‑the‑job training)
- Pull return of materials from production floor
- Empty large trash and cardboard bins
- Sweep floors to maintain proper housekeeping requirement
- Pull pallets to lines from staging area
- Attend training sessions as directed
- Help train production operators as directed
- Minimum education or experience in warehouse environment
- One or more years of warehouse and manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and effectively present information in one‑on‑one situations to supervisor, management and other employees of the organization
- Ability to complete basic math calculations and convert English units of measure to metric
The employee is often required to stand and reach with hands and arms and lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Employees are required to meet with other personnel in other areas of the building. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Employees are required to operate all types of material handling equipment.
Work EnvironmentA person in this job will occasionally be exposed to moderate to occasionally loud noise and will work near moving equipment. This is a manufacturing warehouse environment.
