We are seeking a Heel Finisher to support our Finishing Department by executing the final preparation of boot heels and soles with precision and care
. This role is essential to maintaining our standards of craftsmanship and ensuring consistent product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate rotary and manual sanders to smooth the sole and heel areas of boots while ensuring no damage to leather or boot tops.
- Inspect boot soles for exposed nails and tacks, using mallets and tools to flatten them for a smooth finish.
- Perform quality checks to ensure soles are smooth, nails are barely visible, and meet comfort and safety standards.
- Follow safety protocols, avoiding direct contact with sanding surfaces and handling tools carefully to prevent injury.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- No prior experience necessary; training will be provided.
- Manual dexterity and ability to use hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Use of hands, tools, or equipment as required.
- This is an on-site position at our facility.
- Work may involve exposure to leather materials, adhesives, and mechanical equipment.
- Noise level and temperature may vary depending on department.
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday (weekends as needed). 40 hours a week plus overtime as needed.
- Shift hours may vary between 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM depending on department assignment.
