Description Position Summary
The Packer is responsible for daily packaging of products in support of Customer Order fulfillment.
Duties and Responsibilities- Verify and pick material per Sales Orders.
- Package materials and products manually per Sales Orders.
- Update and maintain daily Pack log with serial # information.
- Transfer material in the MRP system.
- Assemble boxes and required packaging material as required.
- Applies labels, barcodes, and identification to packaging.
- Inspect materials, products, and containers at each step of packaging process.
- Maintain inventory levels for all required packing materials
- Clean and visually inspect products before packing
- Coordinate with supervision if errors are found
- Move packed product to next operation.
- Log onto corresponding jobs in MRP (Epicor) and follows all job paperwork and process instructions
- Maintain an organized work area by performing daily 5S.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, MRP systems, etc.).
- Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills.
- Good analytical skills and problem solving.
- Very detail-oriented, accurate and organized.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Able to work independently (with limited guidance) and as part of a team.
- Confidentiality and time management.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience:
1 year of experience in material handling, inventory, stocking, packing
Work typically takes place in a normal factory and office environment requiring:
- Lifting - frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds
- Vision - specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Handling - test equipment, large/small tools, radios, parts, keyboard manipulation
- Walking/standing for long periods of time
- Able to use standard tools
- Able to kneel, crouch, climb, and reach
- Able to hear (normal sounds)
- Able to communicate effectively - communicate product issues and concerns with supervision
- Operate a PC and other warehouse equipment
- Frequently exposed to conditions such as fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise, vibration, oils, solvents, and chemicals
- Occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme outside weather conditions
