Batchroaster Operator

As a batch roaster you will be working in the Roasting area, mixing and dumping raw materials into the cooking basket. Using a method of process established for the development of all products. Measuring weights and cook quantities of products according to batch requirements. Performs all these activities in compliance with the company’s personnel safety, food safety, and food quality systems as well as 5s methodology.

• Operator must know how to light both roasters.
• Must know how to fill the roasters with oil if necessary.
• Must know how the temperatures of every product to be roasted.
• Must know how to regulate and control oil glazers and salters.
• Able to monitor charts when necessary.
• Must regulate roasting temperature.
• Must post a sample of product roasted every time there’s a different product.
• Must weigh and cover every bin filled.
• Operator is required to produce the highest quality product.
• Must add oil to the glazers if necessary.
• Must know how to prepare the liquid solution.
• Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
• Notifies supervisor of recurring equipment malfunction within 15 minutes of downtime.

• Basic math, reading skills, good communication skills, written and oral.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts.
• Must be willing to work with very little notice upon business needs.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-learner and ability to multi-task.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Must be able to cross-train in other positions including departments.

• Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. and 50 lbs. with assistance.

• Able to operate a pallet jack and safely move up to 2000 lbs. of product.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to operate properly.
• Must be able to stand, walk, work in an environment where stooping, twisting and bending are frequent up to 10 hrs.

• Positive attitude (can-do attitude); team player.
• Proactive, disciplined and organized.
• Ability to train new Operators.
