Summary of Job Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting, monitoring wastewater pit and the staging tanks to prevent wastewater spills. Adjust the pH of the water prior to processing the water. Testing the water with chemicals provided and adjusting the chemical feed system to the optimum operating levels. Monitor and judge the levels allowed to be discharged as sewage to the City of El Paso.
EssentialFunctions And Responsibilities
Perform standard tests to ensure proper operation of the wastewater system and troubleshoot components when problems arise.
Calibrate instrumentation per documentation.
Perform routine analysis on samples using laboratory equipment.
Use appropriate PPE.Perform minor maintenance and repair of equipment, including rebuilding pumps; coordinate standard PMs and repairs with the maintenance department
Maintain accurate records.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work environment
Properly collect samples of wastewater from the water treatment plant, test the samples for pH and reactivity to processing chemical and make adjustments using the chemical provided to bring discharge water to a proper level. Adjustment of processing chemicals to ensure the minimum quality standards are met.
Responsible for ensuring safe operations and escalating up if needed.
Monitoring and sampling tests to maintain compliance with Federal State and Local regulations governing the wastewater treatment process, and stormwater and sludge management.
Complies and enforces food quality and food safety.
Complies and enforces Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Physical RequirementsAbility to wear personal protective equipment is required including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, cut resistant gloves, jackets, aprons &/or arm guards, safety glasses, hearing protection.
Must be capable of climbing stairs, occasional kneeling, squatting lift of 50 plus pounds
Core Competencies
Knowledge of operation methods, procedures, wastewater machinery, and pumping stations
General understanding of wet chemical processes is essential.
Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools.
Previous experience in a Food manufacturing environment desirable.
Sheetrock wall repair knowledge
Knowledge of plumbing work Knowledge in the use of electrical measurement tools. (Multimeter and ammeter)
Knowledge in repair of centrifugal pumps for water systems.
